#Ray Charles Marfo Seeks Minister Okudzeto Ablakwa’s Intervention in Visa Passport Delay

Ghanaian musician Ray Charles Marfo has reached out to Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the current Minister for Foreign Affairs, over a delay in receiving his passport back from the Ghanaian Embassy in Washington, DC. Marfo’s visa application was approved on May 30, 2025, but he has yet to receive his passport despite paying for return shipping through FedEx.
According to Marfo, he has tried contacting the embassy via phone and email but has received no response. The visa portal shows “No Application to Display,” and there is no tracking number available for the shipment.
Marfo is concerned about the delay, especially given the paid return shipping and the rarity of lost mail in the US. He has urged Minister Ablakwa to intervene and provide an update on the status of his passport and visa return.
The incident has raised questions about the efficiency of the Ghanaian Embassy’s visa processing system and the need for improved communication with applicants. Marfo’s experience highlights the challenges faced by individuals seeking visas and the importance of timely and effective communication from government agencies.
