OSP Declares Former Finance Ministry Advisor Wanted in Corruption Probe

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared Ernest Darko Akore, a 67-year-old former Chief de Cabinet (Technical Advisor) at the Finance Ministry, wanted over his alleged involvement in corruption-related offenses. Akore is being sought in connection with an ongoing investigation into the Revenue Assurance Contract between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML).

Background of the Investigation
The OSP investigation centers around suspected corruption and corruption-related offenses linked to the contract between GRA and SML. Akore, who served as a key technical advisor during the contract’s implementation, has emerged as a person of interest in the probe.

Arrest Warrant and International Manhunt
The High Court’s Criminal Division has issued an arrest warrant for Akore, empowering law enforcement to detain him upon sight. Authorities believe Akore, a dual Ghanaian-American national, may be hiding in the United States, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, or South Africa. The OSP has launched an international alert and is collaborating with foreign law enforcement partners to trace and apprehend Akore.
