Man Claims to be Military Officer in Assault on Drugstore Attendant and Female Customer in Burma Camp

Accra, Ghana – A disturbing incident has been reported at a pharmacy in Burma Camp, where a man allegedly claiming to be a military officer in civilian clothes assaulted a drugstore attendant and a female customer. The incident was captured on CCTV footage, which shows the man slapping both the woman and the attendant.

According to sources, the altercation began when the man demanded a refund of about GH¢65 for medication he had sent a boy to purchase on his behalf. The attendant informed him that the pharmacy’s policy is that drugs sold are not returnable, which reportedly infuriated the man. He then resorted to violence, assaulting both the attendant and the woman who intervened.

The video footage shows the violent actions of the man, leaving both the attendant and the woman visibly distraught. The incident has raised concerns about the behavior of some individuals who claim to be security personnel.

Burma Camp is known as the headquarters of the Ghana Armed Forces and the Ghanaian Ministry of Defence, located in Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana.

The Ghana Armed Forces has not yet issued a statement on the incident.
This incident highlights the need for proper conduct and respect for civilians, especially in situations where individuals claim authority due to their profession.
