Eight individuals have been convicted for their roles in violent incidents during the Ablekuma North parliamentary re-run on July 11, 2025. The convicts, who pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy and assault, are:

– Anas Mohammed: 42-year-old estate developer
– Mohammed Hamda: 35-year-old mechanic
– Darko Otibu Samuel: 33-year-old businessman
– Musah Muntari: 46-year-old Station Manager at STC
– Ali Saeed alias Bomba: 43-year-old businessman
The eight accused persons appeared before His Honour Isaac Addo at the Circuit Court in Accra, where they admitted their roles in the incident. The court granted each accused person bail set at GH₵80,000 with one surety and adjourned the case to August 29, 2025, for sentencing.
The Accra Regional Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining peace and order. The violent incidents occurred during the parliamentary re-run, which was necessitated by unresolved disputes stemming from the fiercely contested December 2024 general elections.
