Eligible employees can apply for study leave with pay to pursue further education in approved subject areas. Approved Courses for Study Leave with Pay
The GES has allocated quotas for various courses, with 60% for teaching subjects, 30% for teaching and non-teaching subjects, and 10% for non-teaching subjects. Some of the approved courses include:
– Teaching Subjects (60%): Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Integrated Science, English Language, Physical Education, French, and ICT
– Teaching and Non-Teaching Subjects (30%): Special Education, Ghanaian Language, Guidance and Counselling, Early Childhood, Religious Studies, Economics, Government, Geography, History, Music, Visual Arts, and Vocational Education
– Non-Teaching Subjects (10%): Librarianship, Procurement, Secretaryship, Business Administration, Laboratory Technician, and Library Information Studies
Eligibility Criteria and Application Process
Applicants must meet specific requirements, including good conduct and performance, recommendation by their immediate supervisor, and a minimum of two years of service remaining after the course. To apply, staff members should obtain application forms from the Metro/Municipal/District Education Offices, complete four copies of the application form, and attach certified true copies of their certificates. The deadline for submission is October 31, 2025.
