Theft of a service weapon from Ahafo Newmont Mines Company in Ntotroso-Kenyas

The Bono Regional Police Command has arraigned three individuals—Joseph Blackige, 25, Kwabena Dodzi, 44, and Adu Yeboah Abraham, 46—before the Fiapre Circuit Court in connection with the alleged e, Ahafo Region. The incident occurred on January 13, 2025.

According to the police, the Berreta pistol, GHGP/NHQ/CTD/H78688Z-13, was stolen from the mines. The suspects were arrested on November 12, 2025, following an intelligence-led operation by the National CTU. During investigations, Joseph Blackige admitted to giving the weapon to Kwabena Dodzi. A search at Adu Yeboah Abraham’s house recovered six BB cartridges, a quantity of suspected gunpowder, and cash amounting to GH¢28,844.00.

The three suspects were charged with stealing and possession of stolen property. The female suspect, Priscilla Awuni, 18, was granted police enquiry bail pending further investigation.

Presiding Judge H/W Mrs. Akua Adoma Addae remanded the three suspects in police custody, with a court appearance scheduled for November 28, 2025.
