In a significant legal victory for Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, a U.S. Federal Court has slashed an $18 million defamation award against him to a mere $500. This decision follows a successful motion for remittitur filed by Mr. Agyapong’s legal team, which argued that the original jury award was grossly excessive and unsupported by evidence.
The court’s ruling not only represents a resounding legal vindication for Mr. Agyapong but also reaffirms his long-standing belief in justice, fairness, and the right to speak truth to power. In response to the verdict, Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong expressed his deep appreciation to all well-wishers and patriotic Ghanaians who stood by him throughout the legal process, offering prayers, encouragement, and moral support.
Mr. Agyapong reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the values of integrity, bold leadership, and dedicated service to the Ghanaian people. He vowed never to relent in his efforts to defend truth and accountability in public life.
The press statement, signed by Prince Adjei-Guy Gee, Personal Assistant to Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, concludes with the motto “Patriotism, Honesty & Discipline (PHD),” reflecting the guiding principles of Mr. Agyapong’s public service.
