Kwabena Agyapong, former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party and Press Secretary to former President John Agyekum Kuffour, has expressed dissatisfaction with the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s (OSP) methods. Agyapong questions the OSP’s approach in the Ken Ofori-Atta case, stating that the OSP seems to be conducting a public and media trial rather than following due process.
Agyapong argues that if the OSP has evidence, they should charge Ofori-Atta and proceed with prosecution in a court of law. He also questions the OSP’s declaration of Ofori-Atta as a fugitive, stating that only a court of competent authority can make such a declaration.
Agyapong’s criticism highlights concern about the OSP’s mandate and approach, with implications for the rule of law and due process in Ghana.
